2ND INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY FOR CHILDREN AT NOIDA ASHRAM

2nd international yoga day for children was celebrated on 26th June, 2016 at Noida Ashram from 10:00 to 11:30 am. About 110 children participated therein. Auditorium was spruced with all arrangements. Solicited presence of Sw Ishwaranandaji and Br Vinayanandaji made the occasion divine.

Program started with opening prayer and chanting – Listen to my soul song. All sung with fervor and devotion. Some activities on Patanjali’s Eightfold path of Yoga and different aspects of Yoga e.g.  Karm yog, Bhakti yog, Gyan Yog and Raj Yog were displayed by two different groups of children. They were got cleared about the true concept of Yoga comprising 8 points – Yam, Niyam, Asanas, Pranayama, Prtyahara, Dharna, Dhyan and Samadhi, which is generally mistaken as only yogasnas. Ham honge kamyab and Gayatri Mahamantra with its meaning were also sung. Handout for the same was provided to the children. All joined with their full swing.

A slideshow on International Yoga day was presented for them with the purpose to instill the importance of Yoga on the young minds of little ones, which is nothing complex but a life style for a healthy and happy life.

Swamiji appreciated the presentations of the participants. He professed in his short message to the children that Yoga is not something to be done at one point of time. Whatever we do in the routine of our lives, which is good for our body, mind and soul is Yoga. When we follow eight steps in the chores of our lives, whilst eating, rearing our body, studying, playing, helping others, we do Yoga. Citing many examples, Swamiji   made the point clear that we must always recall the right things over the wrong ones and thus we will be doing Yoga each and every moment.

Program was concluded with closing prayer followed by yogic Prasad of sprouted beans prepared by volunteers and yogic drink.

Program had been informative, interesting and memorable.
