YSS Noida Ashram (July 27)

Swami Lalitanandaji ‘s Guru Purnima Satsanga at Noida Ashram started with a period of prayer, chanting and group meditation for one hour from 5.30 to 6.30 pm.

Swamiji's satsanga on this pecial occasion was based on the Guru Purnima letter of YSS/SRF President Swami Chidanandaji. As Swamiji elucidated the various points mentioned in each sentence of the letter, he also quoted from Guruji’s best-selling spiritual classic - the Autobiography of a Yogi, and other YSS literature like God Talks With Arjuna, Guru Gita etc. to further elaborate the various elements and concepts inherent in the President’s letter.

Who is a sadguru, how is a disciple drawn to a sadguru ordained by God, and what a great blessing it is to be attracted to the feet of a God-realized Guru? Delving on the answers to these points, Swamiji explained in detail what the disciple should do to consolidate the advantages of having such a Guru and His teachings, and many other sacred thoughts and inspirations in the satsanga, which lasted 40 minutes.

After the satsanga, Swamiji did the aarati to show our love, devotion and gratitude at the feet of our beloved Guruji, after which the healing prayers for others took place.

This was followed by pushpanjali to the accompaniment of devotional chanting and bhajans by devotees. As the devotees bowed at the feet of the Guru and expressed their reverence, they left the pandal area with the blessings of the Guru in their hearts and also in their hands - through the prasad received from Swami Lalitanandaji and Brahmachari Sheelanandaji. Over 860 devotees and guests were served Guru Langar in the dining area.

All those who were present on this special day of commemoration felt uplifted and many expereinced the tangible presence and blessings of our divine Guruji throughout the programme and even afterwards.
